1.  ADAM⁴ MCCOLLUM  (JOHN³, JOHNATHON², JOHN¹) was born 30 May 1849 in Eminence, IN, and died 26 May 1928 in Yacolt, WA.  He married (1) SARAH LEONA BAKER 05 May 1882 in Portland, OR, daughter of GEORGE BAKER and SUSAN BAKER.  He married (2) PHEOBE VAN ATTA 30 November 1896 in WA.

 

 

Marriage Notes for ADAM MCCOLLUM and SARAH BAKER:

Adam and Sarah were divorced in 1896, only to re-marry in 1899.

Adam liked to visit a poor, lonely grass-widow (divorcee) named Phoebe.  One night he saddles his horse and went visiting.  Not long after, Sarah walked the distance (1/4 mi.) and looked in the window, saw the two of them inside talking and went to the tethered horse, untied him, got into the saddle and rode home.
